Lanyards for UK customer and staff ID cards
Printed and branded lanyards are an invaluable as a promotional tool for events or situations where security is required. For example, they are used to display tickets at sports or music events or ID cards and badges at exhibitions or trade fairs. These can be printed lanyards, plain, ID cards, staff lanyards, passes and attachments. We supply to both UK and international customers.
Methods of lanyard personalisation available
Screen printed lanyards
Logos and text can be either screen-printed (‘standard’ print) or silk screen printed (particularly suitable for metallic colours). Screen printing is fairly cheap, commonly used and a cost-effective method for lanyard personalisation.
It’s possible to print one or more colours but only spot colours are used. The customised lanyards designs are placed on the gauze in the screen print frame.
The gauze has a light sensitive layer. A film of the design is placed on the gauze and the entire surface is exposed to UV light. The printing ink is pressed through the gauze to the material, enabling the image to be printed onto it.
Dye-sublimated lanyards
Dye sublimation is perfect for personalised lanyards. It has the ability to create complex tonal logos and a first-class photo quality images & custom branding. Dye sublimation can only be used with polyester material. It is similar to the heat transfer process as it uses special heat-sensitive dyes to print graphics, text or any detailed image onto special transfer paper.
The paper is then placed on the lanyard and both are placed into a heat press. The heat cycle transfers the bespoke design into or underneath the surface.
High temperatures open the pores of the polyester fabric and allows the dye vapour to enter the fabric creating the personalised lanyard design. When the temperature cools, the pores close and the dye is trapped in the fibre of the fabric and becomes a permanent part of the tailor-made lanyards.
Iron transfer lanyards
With the use of a plotter, the logo is digitally printed onto adhesive plastic which at the same time is cut by digital control. The iron transfer is cut on the plotter according to the desired shape. Once that’s been done it is then transferred with an industrial ironing process to finalise the lanyards.
Not all logos or shapes are suitable for this process as non-basic shapes add too much complexity to an industrial-oriented process. Iron transfers on personalised lanyards are made in a high resolution full colour imprint. This is a cost effective cheap system to print full colour images on short run lanyard orders.
Embroidered lanyards
The cost for embroidery depends on the number of stitches and the size of the text or logo. An embroidery card or disc is needed to reproduce the image on the article. Fully covered areas or the use of gold or silver thread is also available for additional expense. We also have a range of lanyard attachments and clips available.
Eco-recycled lanyards
Bespoke Eco-lanyards are made of many different materials. These can be recycled plastics or bamboo and offer a way to promote sustainable ideals to your clients at UK events. Different custom printing processes are available depending on the recycled type of lanyard.
